Motivations of International students to choose Vietnamese University for exchange study program

Abstract

After nearly two decades of development, Vietnam’s higher education system has grown quickly. The growth rate, not only expressed by the number of universities established, but also represented by the quality of the educational system. Every year, there are several universities established based on the common global standard, creating a good condition for Vietnamese students, letting them have a chance to experience an education with a global standard within country. In addition, this is also a chance for local universities of Vietnam to attract international students from all over the world to come to Vietnam to study. The aim of this research is to identify the motivation of international students to choose Vietnamese Universities for their exchange program or full degree. By using both qualitative and quantitative method, the motivation results are categorized into 4 different aspects which are personal aspects, job & academic aspects, social & cultural aspect and other aspects
